Scotland Street School was designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh between 1903-1906 for the School Board of Glasgow. Now as a museum, it tells the story of 100 years of education in Scotland, from the late 19th century to the late 20th century. The building is a must see for Mackintosh fans, as a fantastic example of his architectural style. With many features built into the stonework and staircases, there is something to admire around every corner!

Stunning Charles Rennie Mackintosh school, again just looking at the building from the street fills one with wonder. Inside is beautiful as it is practical and preserved as a museum. Its so interesting and the staff are enthusiastic and eager to help. Its an underground trip from Cowcaddens to Shield Road and entry is free. Worth a visit especially on a rainy day.

Let the kids see what it was like to attend a strict Victorian school from over a hundred years ago. The building is an iconic Charles Rennie MacIntosh building also. And it’s free like all Glasgow museums.
