Botanic Gardens Parking
Christchurch's premier public garden.
The Botanic Gardens are beside the Canterbury Museum and the historic Arts Centre. Take a picnic, stroll through the extensive grounds or sit and watch the kids splash in the paddling pools.
Beautiful. Lots to view. Conservatory dining cafe in the park for a nice cuppa.
From the spring drifts of daffodils, spectacular summer roses, stunning autumn leaf display and cosy conservatories to explore over winter, there's something to delight in every season.
“OMG! Best steaks around and ALWAYS cooked to your idea of perfection (their cheesy garlic bread is also pretty awesome!)”
“New Zealand’s largest collection of Category 1 heritage buildings. Once the University of Canterbury, the Arts Centre is now a place to eat, drink, and visit galleries. The Centre was significantly damaged in the 2010/11 earthquakes but its rebuild is now past the halfway point. There’s a Rollickin’ Gelato outlet there and also Lumiere, an amazing boutique cinema with a lovely cocktail bar. Sir Ernest Rutherford (the man who first split the atom) went to university there, and one of the Centre’s many attractions include a visit to his ‘den’ – a must-do for science/physics/astronomy fans. ”
“Dominos pizza is popular for takeaway or delivery and is only 2 - 3 min by foot”
