This purpose-built museum tells the powerful stories of over a century of war. IWM North makes full use of its extraordinary exhibition space to deliver an award-winning immersive experience. The building was actually designed by internationally acclaimed architect, Daniel Libeskind, who designed the Jewish Museum in Berlin and was also behind the masterplan for the Ground Zero site in New York. It’s quite spectacular! It’s open daily from 10pm-5pm and entry is free (pre entry booking advisable). You’ll find IWM Just over the water from The Lowry and MediaCity (home of BBC North), so again we’re super lucky to have such a place on our doorstep! Walking time: Approx 20-25 mins (top tip - jump in a cab. It’s not the most scenic route)
