Only 15 minutes drive you will find this beautiful beach: Kontogialos, or Pelekas Beach. Sandy beach, clear water, sun beds, restaurants and water sports and parking near the beach combined all in one! Pelekas, the village on top of the hill, is definitely worth a visit! Stunning view over the island and very good Souvlaki ans pizza!

Kontogialos, below the famous village of Pelekas, was the favorite beach of the hippies of the 60's. With amazing views of central Corfu from the top of the hill. This was the favorite spot of Kaiser Wilhelm II, his observatory, coming here from a path that led to the Achilles Palace in Gastouri. From here you can see the city of Corfu, the bay of Gouvia and the coast to the opposite island, while in the foreground are the green meadows of the valley of Ropa. The best time is in the afternoon to enjoy the view of the sunset when the hills are painted in different shades of purple, while the sun sinks in the sea….
