Kirstenbosch is a beautiful botanical garden nestled at the eastern foot of Table Mountain. It contains over 7000 species of plants from southern Africa. The 528-hectare Kirstenbosch Estate (which includes the Garden) falls under the Cape Floristic Region, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Whether spending a leisurely afternoon lounging on the lawn or enjoying one of the summer concerts on a Sunday evening, the Botanical Garden offers more than just plant and flower study (which would be impressive enough in and of itself).
