The Life Electric monument, in honor of Alessandro Volta to whom the city is dedicated, is a dazzling 16.5 meter (54 feet) high stainless steel sculpture that stands at the center of Lake Como’s first basin. Amazing view of the sunset from this place.

Studio Libeskind created Life Electric, a dazzling 16.5 meter (54 feet) high stainless steel sculpture on the beloved Lake Como. The public monument, the first contemporary work ever to be installed in Como, is an homage to famed scientist Alexander Volta to whom the city is dedicated. Amazing view of the sunset from this place.

Life Electric is a monument conceived and designed in honor of the great Como scientist Alessandro Volta. It stands at the center of the first basin of Lake Como, located in the end portion of the breakwater in front of Piazza Cavour. The work was carried out by famous star architect Daniel Libeskind: clean, linear, deeply contextualized with the environment. High about 13,75 meters ( 14,25 from the ground ), has the form of two sinusoids that are opposed to each other and play between curves and movement.
