Roper Mountain Science Center
This is a cool place which focuses on Science/Astrology. They have the largest Observatory in SC (I believe it's free on Friday evenings and available as long as it's a clear sky) and they have shows for kids inside to learn more about science. Pretty fun to check out and see the stars!
RMSC features an arboretum, butterfly garden, astronomical observatory, hall of natural science, hall of physical science, living history farm, nature trails, and planetarium. Note, this is a facility of Greenville County Schools, so most weekdays are for school instruction. However, they are open…
“The museum is located at 356 Field Street, across from Fluor Field in downtown Greenville. Jackson's life-size bronze statue is located in the West End at the intersection of Pendleton St. & Augusta St.”
Point of Interest
“The patio of the Hyatt Regency Greenville hotel facing Main Street, NOMA (NOrth MAin) Square is one of the largest public plazas in downtown Greenville, and hosts a regular schedule of free outdoor events. Dog fanciers favor the second Wednesday of the month (March through November), when they can bring their canine companions to the square for Yappy Hour. Live music, yummy Yappetizer specials from the Hyatt’s Roost Restaurant, and complimentary pup-tinis are on tap—as is a cash bar.”
“A humongous park with walking paths, playgrounds, a volleyball play area, and pavilion! You can easily spend an entire morning or afternoon in this one spot. The park is perfectly situated in a beautiful up-and-coming neighborhood. The park is 8.4 miles away or 21 minutes.”
