Old Mission Santa Barbara
Everyone goes here. Be one of them. The rose garden is stunning too. Take a picture and put it on Instagram. You know the deal. :)
This is the iconic old Santa Barbara Mission, it is located behind a gorgeous rose garden.
Espeally a not miss if you are there in May for or after the iMadonari festival - a chalk drawing festival. But any time of the year a great place for some SB history and the Rose Gardens across the street are a favorite picnic spot of mine.
Mission Santa Barbara, also known as Santa Barbara Mission, is a Spanish mission founded by the Franciscan order near present-day Santa Barbara, California.
Amazing lawn to relax on and the mission itself is historic. It has a lovely Rose Garden. The girl who was lost in the book, Island of the Blue dolphins when found lived here and is burried in the Mission.
“The courthouse has a long history of fires, earthquakes and rebuilds. The architecture is so different, moorish elements and Spanish revival with some wacky design features thrown in. The 360 degree view at the top gives you the best overall view of Santa Barbara. Not to be missed! You can tour for free daily and there are one hour guided tours daily at 2 PM and 10:30 Monday, Tuesday and Friday. Santa Barbara.com. 1100 Anacapa St., SB ”
“The best 1.5 hour round-trip hike in Santa Barbara. Stunning views and great for both experienced and new hikers.”
“Enjoy beautiful Butterfly Beach across the street from the Four Seasons Resort. Then shop through the locally owned stores along Coast Village Road, Montecito. ”
“The Outpost Restaurant is one of my favorites in the neighborhood. Love the food and the drinks. Super fun place! ”
