With access via the marina boardwalk, passed the Fisherman's Co-op, visiting this nature reserve is a must. The Island is a steep climb, however, and if you decide to walk to the end of the pathway, where views to the ocean and coastline are amazing, you won't be disappointed. Distant views of the hinterland to the west on the return walk are memorable. Seats are provided at intervals for those in need of a rest.

A walk along the break wall leads to the top of mutton bird island. A great spot with spectacular views of the solitary islands.
