Tjuvholmen is one of Oslo's newest boroughs. The area is characterised by an intriguing architectural diversity and unique outdoor areas. It plays host to several galleries and art installations, including the Astrup Fearnley Museum flanked by a sculpture park and a beach. Tjuvholmen's restaurants…
Modern buildings, great restaurant and the famous Astrup Fearnley museum makes this a favourite among travellers and locals.
Tjuvolmen and Aker brygge is a great place to go for a walk along the marina and do some shopping. They have heaps of great restaurants to choose between. some of my favourites are Døgnvill burger, Olivia, Vippa and Lofoten fiskerestaurant. For summertime enjoy a swim from Tjuvholmen beach.
Great place to go swimming if the weather is nice. Tjuvholmen is even more luxurious than Aker Brygge, but rich and famous who live there must share their waterfront the public beach and public swimming facilities. Really nice!
“The royal palace is located in the middle of the city center. It is sorounded by a nice park. ”
“The dock area of the city. It is full of restaurants, bars and shopping opportunities”
“The beautiful Opera House is worth a visit. Walk on it's roof and look out over the Oslo Fjord or towards the city centre. Take the metro to Oslo Central Station, or the tram or the bus to Jernbanetorget then walk a few minutes to the opera house.”
“Interesting temporary art exhibitions around the themes of human rights as well as a permanent collection on the Nobel Peace Prize (which is awarded in Oslo). ”
