A quiet lake with an impressive view tucked in the notch just 15 mins away. A great place to spend a hot afternoon cooling off in the summer!

Echo Lake is a great place to swim and picnic. Several hiking trails originate from the park including a scenic trail around the lake and others which lead to Cathedral Ledge State Park where views of the Saco River Valley are spectacular. About 10min on 93N

A great swim spot that has amazing views. If you are planning on spending time in Franconia Notch, this is a great spot to stop and enjoy some swimming and even boat rentals. Currently, due to covid, reservations are required currently so make sure to plan accordingly!

This spring fed lake nestled in the surrounding mountains is a sure way to cool off! Enjoy a paddle boat or kayak/canoe trip around the lake while admiring the ski trails at Cannon Mountain... Keep your eyes open as bear families frequent the trails also!

“Although the main draw of "The Basin" is the short loop around the dramatic granite pools, you can park in the lot and follow the Basin Cascade Trail up the ridge from the loop. As you climb, you will find one pristine water fall after another, each one with an idyllic swimming hole and resting spot. A great place to swim, relax, and meander upwards on a hot day. ”

“Enjoy a 2-mile self-guided nature walk through the Flume Gorge, a spectacular natural chasm. You’ll find covered bridges, amazing waterfalls, a scenic natural pool, and gorgeous mountain views. Kids can crawl through the “Wolf’s Den” cave along the way. The Flume Gorge building offers park information, Gift Shop, and Cafeteria. There is a ticket/visitor fee.”
