Presenting history to a modern audience. The museum and art gallery holds an impressive collection of paintings alongside an extensive heritage collection linked to the wealth of Rossendale during the industrial revolution.

A lovely museum in the centre of Whitworth Park. Worth looking around to find out more about the area. Rossendale Ski Slope and the Shoe Trail are both just beyond the park too.

The Whittaker has changed hands, recently, i am not sure of the menu, I have been informed that it is a bit pricey, not your usual park cafe at all, it is very lovely, and it was once the museum, it still artifacts upstairs that i believe you can go and see.

More than a museum The Whitaker is a great venue for eating, drinking, family activities, art exhibitions, film night, special events. Its a must visit if you are in Rossendale.
