A must in the summer and fall. The road is shut down for winter but you can still snowshoe to the top if you’d like! Just past the stowe resort and just a breathtaking place to be.

An amazing drive or walk (ski) on Rt 108 between Jeffersonville and Stowe. The Notch( closed to traffic (once the snow flies) becomes a winter playground for walkers, skiers, ice climbers. This is a must see place with an absolutely unique alpine environment featuring huge Glacial Erratics (Boulders) and towering rock cliffs! Awe inspiring! Of course it's open to traffic at other times of the year and for leaf peepers it's a must see.

Smugglers Notch is a mountain pass in Lamoille County, Vermont. The notch separates Mount Mansfield, the highest peak of the Green Mountains, from Spruce Peak and the Sterling Range. Most of the notch is in Mount Mansfield State Forest. This spectacular traversing road takes you from one side of the mountain range to the other, where you can stop and even hike!
