Newly renovated and minted, the National Museum in Manila will open new doors for learning and exploration.
This proud museum contains many of the Philippines’ signature works of art, including Juan Luna’s seminal Spoliarium, a colossal painting that provides harsh commentary on Spanish rule. It’s in the old Congress building designed by Daniel Burnham.
Housed within the former Legislative Building, the National Museum of the Philippines is the repository and guardian of the Philippines' natural and cultural heritage.

This museum has paintings and sculptures by the most prominent Filipino artists in the 19th and 20th centuries. Among them are Juan Luna, Fernando Zóbel and Félix Hidalgo, who represented a wave of Filipino art that swelled as the country was pushing for independence from Spain.
