This is where Mother Nature puts on one of her finest shows: Luray Caverns. And while the caverns are indeed natural wonder, a national treasure, and the most popular caverns in Eastern America, walking through them feels more akin to an unearthly experience.
Discovered in 1878, the caverns are packed with stalactite and stalagmite ornamentation. Featuring Dream Lake and the Great Stalacpipe Organ. Admission includes a tour of the Car & Carriage Caravan Museum, Toy Town Junction, and the Shenandoah Heritage Village.
The largest (and most commercial) cavern in the area. Plan ahead as there are usually long waits.
Luray Caverns in Virginia are an incredible experience for the whole family, and really showcase how incredible Mother Nature is! Marvel at the formations all around them as they make their way around sights that were formed over 4,000,000 centuries ago!

“This is the closest of several local river outfitters--located just over a 20 minute drive from the Farmhouse, the folks at Downriver can get you set up with everything you need for a day of canoeing or tubing on the Shenandoah.”
