you can drive around the way to Lixouri or take the ferry boat from argostoli and enjoy another beautiful ride to small city near the sea..so many places to see from there on...

Andreas Laskaratos was a satirical poet and writer from the Ionian island of Cefalonia (or Kefallinia), representative of the Heptanese School (literature). He was excommunicated by the Greek Orthodox Church because his satire targeted many of the church's prominent members. Lixouri, also called by the locals "the small Paris" is the second biggest city in Kefalonia and the hometown of poet and sarcastic author Andreas Laskaratos. You can reach Lixuri by car (~30 min) or by ferry (20 min) from Argostoli. Ferry run every 20 min or half-hour during summer. In Lixouri, you will find bars, pastry and coffee shops, restaurants and boutique and touristic shops, most of which are located next to the water and around the square.
