The best kept secret in downtown New York for coffee, Arbaco is by far above and beyond. Coffee made to order and an on-site kitchen pumps out delicious daily pastries. The olive oil cake is to die for.
Strong Coffee with East Village locals. The pastry and cakes are not to be missed!
Abraco simply makes the best coffee in town and has a real neighborhood feel to it. I recommend trying the olive oil cake!
“One of the most famos ice cream shops in the city. If you're lucky you might run in to a celebrity in there. ”

“This macrobiotic restaurant is mostly vegetarian but also offers some fish dishes. You’ll find fresh vegetables, rice and beans to be a main staple here. Japanese inspired you can also get noodle soups and bento box style meals. ”
“Favorite little noodle shop: they make them in the window, buckwheat or regular. One of the few true Japanese places for soba downtown.”
“SINCE 1954, VESELKA HAS BEEN SERVING UP UKRAINIAN FOOD FROM THE SAME LOCATION IN THE HEART OF THE EAST VILLAGE”
“Talk to any California transplant in New York, and they’ll tell you there’s no good Mexican food here. They’re dead wrong, and Miscelanea is why. This chic little grocery has all the Mexican food staples you could want, with lovely new-Village touches like dairy-free vegan horchata.”
