The views are spectacular and there are tide pools and trails to walk along as well. The historical Cabrillo Lighthouse is iconic to San Diego.
Cabrillo National Monument is at the southern tip of the Point Loma Peninsula. It commemorates the landing of Juan Rodríguez Cabrillo at San Diego Bay on September 28, 1542. Our favorite parts are enjoying the beautiful views of the city, and touring the old light house.
In 1542, Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo sailed to and landed at this point, to become the first European to set foot in California. The National park is set on a peninsula high above the city of SD.
