Barry Park Lookout
Very lovely spot not known by tourists. There is a lookout for whale watching.
Whales can be sighted from this peninsula park where you can picnic, go on walking trails or view whales from its well-situated viewing platform.
A hidden gem & worth a visit. There are many walking tracks around Nelson Bay - you just need to know where to find them! I can organise a guided Beach & Bay Tour for a nominal fee, so you get a local's perspective.
Whale watching from July - October, 30,000 whales swim right by, Dolphin Watching, amazing views from the viewing platform, free BBQs and picnic tables. Bush walks are amazing across the headland.

“An intimate restaurant with the option of alfresco dining. Great food and service.”
“20 minute drive. Beautiful location by the beach. Good surf outside. Has car park. Near to the sand boarding facilities. However, because of those days is usually quite crowded. Magnificent views. Good coffee. Good food. Reasonable value considering the location.”
“Live music & entertainment for the younger generation in the evenings. A nice location for some refreshing drinks through the day.”
