Sugar Hollow Trail to Blue Hole
This out-and-back hike provides direct access to Blue Hole, following the South Fork Moorman River on the South Fork Moormans River Road path, which is nice and wide for groups of visitors or two-way hiker traffic.
really cool swimming hole with Stinson Vineyards, and Grace and Knights Gambit as places close by!
If it’s a hot day, Sugar Hollow, also known as Blue Hole, is another good summer day hike to check. It's got a fun swimming hole (bring sandals and a swimsuit) at the end of the trail and is only about 20 minutes west of Charlottesville.
Sugar Hollow is another good hiking spot, but it can be crowded on weekends. You need to have good enough balance to cross the creek on a series of rocks, but it is a very nice hike and you can go all the way up to the Skyline Drive (8 miles round trip) if you are adventurous, then follow it up…
Nice hike to a local swimming hole- be prepared to cross a few creeks in the hike up! Can be crowded on weekends.
“While this little spot doesn't loo like much the owner/cook/baker knows how to make fabulous food -this is his simple fare that usually has a wonderful twist on casual food. Great for breakfast/lunch or a snack. ”
“This breakfast spot has great food and enough seating to feel safe during COVID A favorite of locals and visitors!”
“Mexican fusion spot with fun patio and good margaritas. The street corn is delicious. Gets mixed reviews, but we've always enjoyed our meals here.”
“Our kids LOVE CC's ice cream and so do we! Another fab local business with SUPER TASTY cones, shakes, and more! They rotate really cool flavors and are a friendly staff. ”
