One of the islands you can go by ferry boat from Faro downtown. Its a peculiar island with a very nice beach and a good restaurant and bar.

Ria Formosa Island. A bit packed with people in Summertime, but a must see. Please allow a full day.

BEACH - ILHA DO FAROL (FARO) 37º06`03,19``N 7º49`48,32``W To get to ilha do farol take the ferry boat that runs regularly from Faro. Ticket 5€ (two way ticket)

Farol island is equal to a great day at the beach. No words to explain, you have to go there. Boat access from Faro and Olhão.
