Pier 2 at Brooklyn Bridge draws players from the Bronx, Queens, and Manhattan. There are seven full courts, Manhattan views, and all levels of comp. There are actual nets—I love the snap when my shot goes in. It’s a great place to spend the day, packed on weekends and after 5 during the week. Also, tons of makeshift cabins selling all types of food. The A and B courts, where the best talent goes, have canopies over them so you can keep playing if it drizzles. But if there’s a lot of rain, the water’s going to run onto the court.

The second most iconic park is Brooklyn is just a 20 min walk away or one NYC Ferry stop... up to you. But a great place for a stroll or to watch some fierce volleyball or basketball or go for a kayak ride or just sit and look over at the stunning lower Manhattan skyline. Oh, you can also grab a pizza at Il Fornino and an ice cream at Odd Fellows. It's right on the East River and is alive with boats and kayaks and jetskis and helicopters and everything else you can possibly think of!

It’s on the other side of Brooklyn, but so worth the trip. Outdoor activities for all ages. Bring a picnic or cook on one of the park’s grills. Amazing views! Stroll the park while eating Ample Hills ice cream. It will take you about an hour commute to get to the park; but you can pack light because there’s a pretty good grocery store right in the park (near the soccer fields).

Nestled on the shores of the East River lies the 85-acre Brooklyn Bridge Park, an appealing place to relax and enjoy views of the bustling New York harbor, Statue of Liberty, and both the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges. The park features a 1920s restored carousel, playgrounds, piers, and lawns for picnicking. Visitors can enjoy events like outdoor movies, concerts, fitness classes, rowing, kayaking, and more. Other amenities include basketball courts, an in-line skating rink, and a small beach for non-motorized boat launch. A seasonal ferry brings folks from the park to Governors Island.
