Zemun is a historical town and one of the 17 municipalities which constitute the City of Belgrade, the capital of Serbia. Before 1934, it was a town separate from Belgrade.

It takes long to reach by public bus it but highly recommended if you can afford it. Build by Austrian empire, for long time being completely separate town from Belgrade (and for most of it, also a different state), Zemun offers a sight to different architecture, nice river views and good fish restaurants on the quay. Take a stroll or many stairs to Gardoš Tower and get lost in small alleys. Sunsets are very nice too.

Local market with fresh fruit, meet, vegetables, eggs and cheese. Lots of cafes and a Maxi supermarket are also in this street where you can buy everything you need.

Once a separate city now a famous part of Belgrade for its river taverns and restaurants, specific atmosphere, and tasteful dishes made of fish, fresh from the river Danube. On the Main street is a Homeland museum and Madlenianum Opera and Theatre. On the bank of the Danube, Zemunski kej, is a kilometers-long promenade, with barges-cafés, an amusement park, and formerly the largest hotel in Belgrade, Hotel Jugoslavija, now home to Grand Casino. At night, these barges-cafés are the epicenter of nightlife, and they are open till dawn. Gardoš Tower is the most recognizable symbol of Zemun that offers a panoramic view of Belgrade and a pleasant rest from the sounds of city traffic. This neighborhood preserved its old looks, with narrow, mostly cobblestone streets and individual residential houses.

Located on right side of Danube river, filled with amazing fish restaurants and a lot of nature. Old buildings will show you how was it like decades ago.
