St Augustine Lighthouse & Maritime Museum
A Spanish watchtower, built in the late 1500's was the predecessor of the present St. Augustine Lighthouse. St. Augustine is the site of the oldest aid to navigation in North America. The original watchtower became Florida's first lighthouse in 1824.
This is very cool Maritime history as well as a great ghost tour that's offered on Saturday nights!
Can you climb 219 steps? If so, you can have some of the best views at the top of the lighthouse. Even if you can't, the museum and grounds are worth the visit for those who appreciate history.
Climb to the top of the lighthouse and check out St. Augustine from up above!
