The place where Harald Hårfagre, gathered Norway into a kingdom in 872. The monument commemorates the battle and consists of three swords set in the ground, which stand for peace, unity and freedom. The monument was created by Fritz Røed (1928-2002), and was unveiled by King Olav in 1983.
The Three Swords (Swords in Rock) monument is a picturesque rock monument representing the 872 Battle of Hafrsfjord. Here, Harald Fairhair defeated his final opponents in an attempt to unite Norway under his crown. Sunrise and Sunset definitely worth it here.
