Most foreign tourists are familiar with bánh mì sandwiches made with pate, cold cuts, and vegetables. But this place specializes in bánh mì thịt xiên nướng, which is a type of banh mi made with grilled pork skewers. They don’t put as much in the sandwich, just two sticks of skewered pork (we got double), cucumber slices, chili sauce, and some Vietnamese coriander if I remember correctly. Based on my research, thịt xiên nướng refers to grilled pork, but the meat in this one looked more like nem nướng which are grilled pork meatballs or sausages.
