The Royal Hotel
The hotel on the front. The main reason for going here are the views as and afternoon sun as you are practically on the beach.
This hotel has been at the centre of Deal life since Napoleonic times. Welcoming and fun with great sea views.
Casual (and dog friendly) pub, restaurant, hotel located on the beach near the pier, with sea views. This is quite large place so you shouldn't have a problem just turning up but it does get busy at peak times.
The bar is ok but the seats outside have great views of the sea. The food is generally awful. It's a home goal for the backward thinking Shepherd Neame brewery. They have the location but, not a clue what to do with it. Brakes Brothers frozen meals so, just stick to classics like Fish and Chips etc.
“Frog and Scot is a lively French bistro in the heart of the coastal town of Deal. Situated on the award-winning High St (The Telegraph’s ‘High Street of The Year’ 2014), the bistro is run by it’s owners Benoit and Sarah, the eponymous Frog and Scot. Sarah & Benoit were recently delighted and honoured to announce that the bistro has been included in both the 2019 Michelin Guide and the Good Food Guide 2019. Offering quality ingredients and superb cooking in a warm and friendly environment, Frog and Scot is bistronomy at it’s best! Serving up both classic and contemporary dishes, food is prepared using the freshest, locally sourced and seasonal produce. The restaurant has a casual yet elegant feel with intimate bistro tables, a marble bar where customers are welcome to sit and eat, and an on-street dining area to relax and watch the world go by. Building on the success of their wine shop and bar ‘Le Pinardier’ (just a few doors along from the bistro), Frog and Scot also offers an extensive wine list featuring many that are organic, biodynamic and natural.”
“Just 50 steps up the road, one of the oldest pubs in Deal. Worth a trip for happy hour between 5:30pm and 6pm, where all drinks are 1/2 price! Note they are a real old pub and only take cash.”
“Theeeeee place to get your fish and chips and an easy walk from me. There are fast moving queues!”
“A popular venue with all ages. Friendly bar staff that make everyone feel welcome. There is a huge selection of spirits and a good selection of draft beers, including craft beers. ”
