Now THIS is a legend. The Naam has been serving Vancouverites for about a half a century. Ultra healthy, the fare is restricted to vegetarian selections, but non-vegetarians happily eat here all the time. Huge selection. Vintage 'hippie' joint that's open 24/7.
Cheap, fast, vegetarian food, and 24 hours a day. Much of their menu is organic, and they have some great dishes.
Voted best vegetarian year after year in Vancouver. We liked our chicken and steak so don't go here, but from what we hear from our friends and record it's a great spot and open late when we're not in a pandemic.
Casual spot with local art, a garden patio & nightly live music, serving natural & vegetarian foods.
Founded in 1968 when West 4th was the heart of hippydom , open 24 hrs, 7 days per week, 2724 W 4th
“Right on the beach, fantastic spot for a pint & some people watching! Great patio that looks at kits beach. Gets hopping at night & in the summer! Fun spot to watch the beautiful people!”
“You simply can’t beat Darby’s rooftop patio during this nice sunny weather, and it’s even better with a refreshing beer. Darby’s has 32 craft, imported, and domestic beers on tap, so there’s plenty of choice. Enjoy the consistently good 33 Acres beer on special on Sunday nights, specifically the Echo beer – a seasonal blonde India Session Ale, with notes of citrus and pine, and a smooth finish. Surprisingly good place to grab a drink but also a bite. The food here is pretty much pub food - think burgers, fries, and wings. They have daily specials as well as after hours (10 pm) specials. Plenty of seats inside and on the patio. I would recommend the burgers. ”
“This great little spot is definitely a neighbourhood draw and is always buzzing with a diverse crowd. The Oakwood is known for its "all-Canadian" poutine, gourmet burgers and its décor - rustic Canadiana – wood, bleached antlers, lots of craft beer. Chef, Mike Robbins sources thoughtfully, he buys Ocean Wise seafood and local or Canadian meat and poultry. My recommendations are the burgers the warm kale salad and the poutine. If your looking for a cozy upscale casual spot in the neighbourhood I would check out Oakwood Canadian Bistro. ”
“Don't dress up -- this is a casual neighbourhood bakery restaurant frequented by the laid-back Kitsilano crowd. Brunch is served daily until 3pm and the menu is entirely organic (with prices to match the high food quality). Think stuffed French toast, roasted fennel tofu scramble and breakfast burritos. Portions are generous and many gluten free and vegan options are available. Save room for pie or cake -- dozens of flavours are on offer, including two gluten-free vegan cakes (available in full-size) and ten gluten-free vegan pies!”
