Gantry Plaza State Park
Gantry Plaza State Park is a 12-acre state park on the East River in the Hunters Point section of Long Island City, in the New York City borough of Queens. The park is located in a former dockyard and manufacturing district, and includes remnants of facilities from the area's past
Great park, new modern architecture, and furniture. Arguably the best view of the Manhattan skyline in all of NYC. The only downside is that parking can be an issue in this part of town so make it here by public transit or Uber if you can.
A wonderful place to spend your afternoon on the grass right on the East River looking at the view.
Excellent for beautiful views of Manhattan! Awesome dog parks, food carts, and lots of family friendly activities.
“Speakeasy Vibe - $$ - 10 min walk - Craft beers and Cocktails. Dutch Kills is only recognizable by a neon sign that simply states ‘BAR.’ As you step inside Dutch Kills, you are transported to a Prohibition era, speakeasy-style bar, with classic cocktails and spirits. You’ll find a dark atmosphere, vintage decor, small booths, and a sharing menu. If you’re struggling to choose a cocktail, just tell the server your desired spirit and they will concoct the perfect drink for you.”
“Free admission on Friday after 5 pm. Perfect for cinema enthusiasts. Check their movie schedule too”
“My building is 5 Min walk away from the famous MoMa (Museum of Modern Art)'s PS1 Location featuring modern architecture reinvented from a public school and famous contemporary artists' works. ”
“Taken over by Mark di Suvero in 1986, this is one of the few locations in the city specifically designated for artists to create outdoor works. The splendid Queens space looks out over the Manhattan skyline and is open 365 days a year.”
“Mexican - $$$ - 15 min walk - LIC’s first Michelin Star restaurant! The food here is incredible so be sure to call ahead of time and make a reservation. It’s worth the trip. 🌮 ”
