The beautiful town of Bergerac, the wine producing centre of the region lies halfway between Souillac and Bordeaux. There are several chateaux amongst the thousand-acre vineyards (including Montbazillac) who welcome visitors for tours and tasting sessions. On the route you will be blown away by the mesmerising chateau town of Beynac.

You can find great wines in the area around the town. The town itself is pretty and has good shopping and restaurants

Bergerac is a great resource for us and for our visitors. We love the town, and it's a great place to "flâner" - with a medieval centre expanding into wider boulevards and at its heart the beautiful River Dordogne. There is a wide choice of restaurants for lunch or dinner.
