The Riverwalk is 13 miles of biking or walking that goes from the historic St. Elmo neighborhood at the base of Lookout Mountain all the way to the dam on the Tennessee River. (You don't have to go the whole way! You can just walk/ride parts of it.
The riverwalk is a 13 mile path that runs along the river with one part in the downtown area. Definitely worth checking out if you're interested in some beautiful sights during a leisurely walk.
A continuous 10-mile path extends from the riverfront near the aquariums to the Tennessee Riverpark and Chickamauga Dam. The path is used for bicycling, in-line skating, walking, jogging and fitness pursuits. It also includes the Chattanooga Rowing Center and several canoe/kayak launches.
There are various points throughout the city to be able to park and walk alongside the river. You have access points near St. Elmo, Arts District, near Tennessee RiverPark.
