Music, food, functions, lunch or dinner and late evenings on the harbour. I love listening to the ships" horns as they come and go.
Laid-back harbourside venue with modern decor and TV sports, offering choice pub grub and cocktails.
“Second biggest shopping outlet in Newcastle. Loved by all. Big restaurant area on top floor. Inside fats food dining options too ”
“Huge shopping centre only a 30 min car trip lots of cool shops and cinemas. We favour the Hoyts around the corner from here awesome comfy seats and nice a quiet.”
“This is the site of an old fort originally built in the early 1800s and is the only fort in Australia to have fired its guns at the Japanese during WWII. It's a nice historical spot that kids will love but there is also a great view of the harbour and city from the lawns.”
“Aside from its smart design and spectacular location what’s most to love about Merewether Surfhouse is the way in which it caters to both young and old. Upstairs on the left you have the child free, older sophisticated set who are partial to a bevy or two. On the right there’s the a-la-carte restaurant, with flavours that reflect a modern Australian menu. Go down a level and you’ll find the function spaces, perfect for that seaside wedding or smart business do. Hit the ground floor and this is where it really gets busy. From dawn to dusk you can find mums, dads, kids and grandparents, scooters and bikes, runners and dawdlers, and the odd four footed friend cruising up and down one of the busiest pathways in Newcastle. For those looking for a lazy breakfast or afternoon get-together the Surfhouse café offers not only some tasty bites but a super relaxed vibe. Looking for something even more relaxed then head to the Pizza Shop and get amongst a slice of pizza, a beer or soda and a scoop of gelato. The café is a fab place to take the kids, not only is the menu perfect for the little ones but the chilled approach that staff take to kids on bikes, scooters and trikes is supa cool.”
