Barrier Lake is beautiful man-made lake in Kananaskis Country, created by a hydro-electric dam on the North side of the lake. The lake can be found on Highway 40 just south of the Trans Canada Highway

Beautiful lake with 8 KM hiking, one of the famous trails and local travelers love it.

Great for SUP and canoeing. Lake is best in the morning as it can get fairly rough for paddling in the afternoon when winds pick up

Barrier Lake is beautiful man-made lake in Kananaskis Country, created by a hydro-electric dam on the North side of the lake. The lake can be found on Highway 40 (Kananaskis Trail) just south of the Trans Canada Highway. There are parks, day-use areas, hiking trails, and a boat launch along Highway 40. During the summer you can rent canoes, kayaks, and stand-up paddleboards from Kananaskis Outfitters Thursday-Sunday.
