Roaring Fork Falls Trailhead
Only 7 miles, (about 13 minutes) from our retreat to the trailhead, and a 3/4 mile easy hike to the Falls. There are more falls in this area than I can list, but these give you a sampling. Ask and I'll point you to more.
If you are already heading to Mt. Mitchell or the Blue Ridge Parkway stop at this waterfall. It's an easy hike and just a breath taking waterfall. If you have good knees you can take a small trail to the top but the view is best from the bottom.
This is one of our family's favorite hikes-- it's easy with kids (or without) and the waterfall at the end of the one mile (at the most) hike is so beautiful, you'll want to sit and stay a while. The more adventurous can go up to the right of the falls to climb further.
“OOAK stands for One of a Kind and it's so true! A beautiful gallery with all hand crafted work from the area. Kari is an attentive owner who knows how to display craft work in a delightful way. Her husband, David, is a fine musician and instrument repair professional. Saturday mornings a group of musicians gather and jam in the loft of the gallery.”
“A great spot for lunch or dinner! They have a really nice outdoor seating area . ”
“A selection of craft beers and small tavern feel. Pretty good food using some local ingredients. The portions are smaller but the teriyaki ribs and asian slaw are phenomenal.”
“Such a fun store! Lots of great gifts, clothing and local items. Get your Burnsville T-shirt here 😊”
