This is by far one of the most favorite places in the entire MatSu Valley, both summer and winter. Easy access, incredible views, something for everyone. Grab a bite to eat at Hatcher Pass Lodge after an active day.

This historic park is a trip back k in time. If you're lover of machinery and history, it doesn't get much better. A beautiful drive on the way is simply mesmerizing.

Hatcher Pass and Indepedence Mine is a local favorite for hiking. Drive up and over the pass from Wasilla to Willow after July 4 for a dramatic summer experience.

This old mining camp, that is currently being restored, has a visitor's center, hiking trail up to the mine, and has informative plaques you can walk up to and learn how life in an Alaskan mining town was run. A great place high up in the mountains both for summer paragliding and winter snowboarding or snowmobiling.
