One of the most celebrated of all the classic Paris brasseries, the haunt of the very successful and very famous, with a wonderful 1900s wood-and-glass interior. Decent plats du jour, including the famous sauerkraut, for under €20, but the full menu is very expensive. No reservations, so be prepared to wait. Metro: St-Germain-des-Prés. Open daily noon–1am.
