“Residential Mid-City centers on City Park, a vast green expanse with sports facilities, the New Orleans Botanical Garden and boating on Big Lake. Other park attractions include Carousel Gardens Amusement Park, with its antique wooden carousel, and the New Orleans Museum of Art, home to an eclectic global collection and a sculpture garden. Outside the park, mellow bars and breakfast spots attract a laid-back crowd.”

“Uptown/Carrollton is a laid-back residential area known for its oak trees and landmark restaurants like the late-night Camellia Grill and the iconic Jacque-Imo’s, serving Creole cuisine. Venerable live music venues include the Maple Leaf Bar, for brass bands, bayou tunes and dancing. Quirky bookstores and indie clothing boutiques line Oak Street, while Palmer Park has a popular monthly art market. Freret Street is like the uptown version of Frenchman street in the Marigny but not as many music venues. Freret does offer fabulous restaurants, bars and some hopping! Magazine street goes all the way from the end of the french quarter at Canal Street to the tip of Uptown, it's about a 6.5 mile stretch! Magazine street is a must see!”

“The South Market District, a micro-neighborhood of the CBD, transformed asphalt lots into urbanity where award-winning bakers and chefs serve up cuisine to visitors and locals in trendy restaurants. Restored theaters – the Saenger, the Orpheum and the aptly named Joy – host incredible acts and Broadway shows. Close proximity to both the French Quarter and the Garden District. ”
