Clontarf is an area famous as a key location of the Battle of Clontarf in 1014. Clontarf castle has been there since 1172. It has now been modernized and has a bar, cabaret venue, and hotel.

Fabulous Hotel - walkable from Simla Lodge (this house was built as a gate lodge for the Hotel back in 1760!) Great for food and drinks - afternoon tea a special treat worth trying.
