Go on a journey of underwater discovery! Set on Windermere lakeshore, this award-winning attraction has the UK's largest collection of freshwater fish. You can arrive at the aquarium by boat, from Bowness or Ambleside with Windermere Lake Cruises. And you can catch a steam train with the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway. Situated at Lakeside on the southern end of Lake Windermere it's only about 8 miles away and the aquarium, features otters, pike, char, British sharks and rays. You can watch the ants building their hills. See the water voles and harvest mice on their nocturnal activities and the under water tunnel featuring giant carp and diving ducks. Daily talks, children’s quiz trails and special event days available. Coffee shop overlooks Lake Windermere. This is a wonderful place to visit especially on damp days because most of it is under cover.

You can take a steam train from Newby Bridge to the Aquarium and enjoy the views of the Lake as well as a great aquarium
