The rose river loop is a gorgeous hike in SNP that follows rose river and continues up to dark hollow falls

Great hike with a creek and waterfall. About 4 miles. Trail off Skyline Drive at Fishers Gap.

Longish hike (3.6 miles), but easy going. Ok for kids. Follow the creek, lots of waterfalls. No grand overlook, but the trail is beautiful in its own right.

This is a lesser known trailhead for accessing the park. You can climb up the fire road to the Rose River loop, which has numerous falls. Big Meadows wayside is at the top of the fire road.
