The National WWII Museum
The National WWII Museum tells the story of the American Experience in the war that changed the world — why it was fought, how it was won, and what it means today — so that all generations will understand the price of freedom and be inspired by what they learn.
One of the best museums in New Orleans. Definitely on par with any museum in Washington DC. I highly recommend the movie experience, but pick that time first before you plan out your day! And double check the hours of the museum.
Museum is the top-rated tourist destination in New Orleans and #2 in the U.S. You will be awed.
Voted #2 top rated museum in the country. This is a heavy experience but well worth it if you're interested in WWII history. This is at least 1 full day experience but could be 2 full days depending how thoroughly you explore the exhibits.
This national museum shows the American experience through the war - why, how, and what it means today. The museum is huge so plan accordingly!
“The Audubon Insitute's nationally recognized aquarium is well-worth a visit. It's just next to the Canal Street Ferry Terminal and Woldenberg Park, an expansive riverfront venue. The Aquarium and the park are right next door to the historic French Quarter.”
“Please take the time to explore City Park. There is so much! Find a map online and go see the many many playgrounds, the Children’s Museum, NOMA, the sculpture garden, Morning Call, and more!”
“Located in the vibrant Warehouse Arts District of downtown New Orleans, Louisiana, the Ogden Museum of Southern Art holds the largest and most comprehensive collection of Southern art and is recognized for its original exhibitions, public events and educational programs which examine the development of visual art alongside Southern traditions of music, literature and culinary heritage to provide a comprehensive story of the South. ”
“A lovely park. You may book a horseback riding at Cascade Stables for a relaxing ride through the park. ”
