Storybook A-Frame Cabin in the Woods Close to Downtown Boone
Rekindle a childlike sense of discovery in the loft bedroom nestled under a peaked roof. A grownup treehouse vibe continues downstairs with woodsy furniture, folk art details, and a wood-stove. Relax outdoors on the swing overlooking the creek, or open the windows to let in a mountain breeze while you relax with the novel you've been waiting to read. This little A-frame is 700 square feet of charm with windows that overlook the forest. (This little space is set up for single travelers, couples, and honeymooners and isn’t child-friendly.) Come connect with nature and find some relaxation here! Simple and pretty, this cabin is a mountain retreat with room for your soul to breathe. It’s in a little neighborhood of other cabins, so not isolated, but with such quietness and the rush of the creek, which you can usually hear even when you’re inside the cabin. The tall windows view the forest, and it’s an amazing feeling to look out into the treetops from the loft bed. The cabin is ideal for couples, or a getaway with a friend because of its smaller scale, and we think you’ll like how close it is to downtown Boone. We keep the cabin sparkling clean and have tried to think of all the special touches that will make you feel at home here. The cabin is shaded in the summer and stays quite cool. We’ve installed a ceiling fan in the loft for those of you who like air movement any time of year. In December, the cabin will be decorated for the holidays, and there will be plenty of twinkle lights to brighten up your evenings during the ski months! The cabin has cable TV in the living room that can also connect to your streaming apps like Netflix, and there’s a second TV in the downstairs bedroom with Roku. But if you want to unplug from all that, you can! Maybe light some candles or a little fire in the wood stove and settle in with a good book. Maybe you just want to write or sit outside and breathe. The kitchen is fully equipped with new appliances, including a new stove, refrigerator, coffee maker, toaster oven, microwave, and blender. There’s a crock pot for slow cooking a meal while you hike or ski. A new gas grill is on the deck. And if you feel like being outside during the warmer months, you can eat meals at the long outdoor wooden table and sip coffee in the deck rocking chairs. Steps and an inclined pebble path lead down to the creek. The cabin has a steep staircase leading to the loft in typical A-frame fashion. (We do not recommend this cabin for children, in part because of the deck railings, steep stairs, and loft.) Explore downtown Boone, or if you like, we can recommend some amazing hiking trails. Honestly though, we wouldn’t blame ya if you just wanted to relax at the cabin all day. This place really does have a little magic. :) Entry to the cabin is simple with a key code, and the entire cabin is yours, as are the woods and creek below. Enjoy! I give guests their space, but I live only a few minutes away and can be available when needed. The Cozy Owl A-Frame is located in a quiet area only 6 minutes from King Street and Downtown Boone. It's private, yet not isolated, sitting on the side of a mountain in the woods with other cabins. The cabin has a private parking area in front of the cabin with room for up to two cars. This cabin has a wood stove, but wall heaters are the primary source of heat. In the case of snow or ice, All-Wheel-Drive might be needed. Lynn Hill Road is paved, but it’s steep. While this isn’t an issue in good weather, trips to the mountains in snow affect which vehicles can get around.
Experience the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains through an artist’s eyes at this truly unique Boone retreat! Stained glass accents and top-of-the-line appliances highlight the interior, while unspoiled wilderness surrounds the exterior. Watch for wildlife out on the deck or venture out onto the nearby nature trails for a closer look.
