Famous for their eats like Pulled Pork Pancakes, Chicken French Toast, Green Eggs and Ham, Red Velvet Pancakes, and the iconic Charlie Bowl, one glance at Jam’s Instagram and it’s not hard to see why they boast arguably the most sought-after brunch in the city. Patrons can expect a charming vintage interior, relaxed vibe, outrageously drool-worthy eats, and hours (daily from 8 am to 3 pm).

If you're looking for a tasty, quick lunch or take out, I highly recommend Thai Basil! If your going for lunch I recommend ordering the "combinations," which come with a choice of curry or entree, a salad, rice and egg roll. The best dish in the house is the Eggplants & Basil (Chicken, Beef, Tofu, or Pork) which is my favourite. Thai Basil is located right in front of Kits Beach.

I have not been to Mak N Ming, however it was rated the 4th best new restaurant in Canada (2017) so its definitely worth mentioning. Very close to our property (walking distance). NOTE - Mak N Ming is a tasting-menu-only restaurant Kitsilano’s Mak N Ming (1629 Yew Street)—an upscale dining establishment serving tasting menus that focus on French and Japanese flavours—has been named Canada’s fourth best new restaurant, according to Air Canada’s enRoute magazine. Mak N Ming's co-owners and chefs Amanda Cheng and Makoto Ono wanted to bring a new type of cuisine to Vancouver. They aimed to elevate the city’s dining culture with Ono’s unique style of cooking. The husband-and-wife duo told the Straight back in January that they weren’t trying to create fusion dishes, but offer a natural blend of flavours from two different cultures. “The food that [Makoto] comes up with is not just to please diners and fill seats, he wants to introduce flavours that people maybe don’t know they like,” Cheng told the Straight in an interview at their 28-seat restaurant earlier this year. This hidden gem was already tight with seats before this accolade, so now it may be ten times harder to make a dinner reservation. "Tammy Kwan" - The Georgia Straight Sitting pretty on the Yew St. slope in the heart of Kitsilano, chefs Makoto Ono and Amanda Cheng have shown through hard work, perseverance, and plenty of critical acclaim that quiet and cool fine dining with style still has a pulse on Vancouver’s West Side. Given the quality of the ingredients, the imagination that goes into the French/Japanese plates and their respective deliciousnesses, both their $54 and $78 tasting menus are wicked worth it. Named to honour Chef Michael Robbins’ two grandmothers for what they represent in his life, AnnaLena is about imagination, creativity and possibility. An artist, designer and fashion-lover, Robbins has created his own vision and artistic expression for the restaurant near Kits beach, and plans to stay true to his favourite food genre: modern Canadian cuisine. Described by Robbins as “food influenced by a melting-pot of cultures, flavour profiles and techniques, and one that uses largely Canadian ingredients.” For the front of house Robbins has re-joined forces with former Oakwood colleague Jeff Parr, an industry veteran adept at overseeing the floor in some of Vancouver’s busiest and best-known rooms. Plates range from $5 to $36 inviting diners to mix and match creative dishes like: local kushi oysters, shaved foie gras, compressed apple, jalapeño mignonette; buttermilk fried chicken, dijon maple aioli, dill powder; lamb neck, chimmicurri, charred yogurt, asparagus, tomato, anchovy; and wagyu short rib, roasted mushrooms, broccoli puree, potato chip, natural jus. A tightly curated selection of desserts will also be on offer, featuring plates like: chocolate custard, honeycomb and salted caramel ice cream. Robbins and Parr took over the restaurant in early February 2015 and have renovated the West 1st space to align with the artistic and culinary vision of Chef Robbins. Don’t miss original art by Robbins including “Bear Bricks,” LEGO lamps and designs, the “Tetris” bar, and works from local photographer, Allison Kuhl. Personal touches are found throughout the thoughtful dining room and kitchen that provide insight into Robbins’s passions and vast imagination. ——————————- “Mike Robbins is a serious chef with great potential. He is going to be a star, mark my words” – Alexandra Gill, Globe & Mail – June 2015

If you're looking for an authentic "Neapolitan Pizza" this is the place, the chef is Italian, the owner is Italian and even the waiters are Italian. "Bibo Pizzeria" is renowned for its true, thin crust ‘Neapolitan style pizza’ (the dough is hand-prepared by chefs).

Linh Café, a small bistro that comes with glowing recommendations. "Best Vietnamese in Vancouver – but not really Vietnamese." "Mind blowing," "Like nothing I've had before." The concept – a classic French bistro that also serves a few North Vietnamese specialties – certainly seemed interesting. Vietnamese cuisine has been so heavily influenced by French colonialism; it makes sense to combine both on one menu. Owner chef Tai Nguyen moved to Vancouver from North Vietnam in 2001. He has worked with some of the best French chefs in the city: Jean-Yves Benoit (L'Emotion and Mistral); Alain Rayé (La Régalade) and his son Steeve cct Rayé (Café Régalade); Thierry Busset (Thierry). But when opening his own restaurant, he decided to marry his North Vietnamese heritage with French bistro fare by offering simple classics from both countries.

Cactus Club (local) - is another Canadian chain restaurant specializing in premium casual dining. Cactus Club like Joeys and Earls started in Vancouver and now has locations all across Canada and the US. The food is great and there is always something on the menu that will satisfy. They get high marks for unique décor and great atmosphere. This is a family restaurant and my kids love it and always find something on the menu they like but it doesn’t have a kid menu. My local pro tips: Parking – they have an underground parking lot and there is also street parking Wait – they don’t have a huge wait but there is some wait during busy times. Starters – You can’t go wrong with Rob’s flatbread and the sushi cone. Mains – The Cajun Chicken Sandwich is great, the Hunter Chicken and Sable Fish Location – 1530 W Broadway, Vancouver, BC V6J 5K9 How long to get there – 9-minute drive

1. The Keg Steakhoue + Bar (Local) – is another legendary local chain that now has location spread across the US. It a premium casual dining restaurant that has a very kid friendly menu, with great options for kids, my kids love it. It’s located close by our property on Granville Island. The Keg specializes in steaks and seafood but there signature dish and what they are famous for is their prime rib. This is a family restaurant and although they serve great steaks it’s not what I would consider a high-end steak house on the scale of Morton’s or Ruth Chris. My local pro tips: Parking – Parking comes at a premium on Granville Island but I always find available free parking behind the restaurant. My favorites mains - I like to order the “Keg Classics” which come with a salad and sides. My favorites are the Baseball Sirloin or Teriyaki Sirloin – blue rare or rare on the inside and Chicago on the outside. If you don’t know what that is ask your serves for details. My favorite starters - My kids and I love the baked shrimp and escargot. I also love the tuna tartare and the bacon wrapped scallops. Baked Potatoes – They have great baked potatoes; their twice backed potato is truly delicious. Location – 1499 Anderson St, Vancouver, BC V6H 3R5 How long to get there – 9 -minute drive

Vij's has taken Indian cuisine and totally redesigned it for a classy, upscale, and diverse audience. Be prepared to have your mind blown away here, from the initial seating to the service to the food. A+ experience. The menu is very carefully thought out and caters to a diversity of palates. Everyone in your group will find something on the menu they love. They recommend ordering family style, so ordering a bunch of dishes to share across the table. Entrees can be ordered in regular size portions (~$30) or half size portions for $18. The serving sizes here are not ginormous as expected, but it's nice to get a flavor of multiple dishes in family style sharing. I have tried basically every vegetarian dish/item on the menu here, as well as multiple non-veg dishes. Vij's rotates his menu occasionally so you never get bored, but the classic favorites always stay on the menu. Those lamb popsicles. Mmm. The goat curry is a little watery for my liking. If you come here looking for an ordinary Indian meal, you'll be disappointed. Everything here is unique and can't be found at other Indian restaurants. That's what's so great about it. Vegetarian dishes include jackfruit, portobello mushroom, koftas, layered paneer dishes, and more. My favorite non-veg dishes include the sablefish in tomato curry and the lamb popsicles marinated in wine in a fenugreek cream curry. Everything is just bursting with flavor and screams "Indian food redefined."

Sushi and seafood from the city's best-known Japanese restaurant Repeat winner of the Vancouver magazine award for Best Formal Japanese, Hidekazu Tojo has recited his brand of Japanese seafood haiku at his eponymous restaurant for more than 25 years. At the dramatic (and quiet) premises on Broadway, signatures of albacore tuna tataki, baked sablefish, and sautéed halibut cheeks shine. A sake bar, omakase bar, and tatami rooms rim the room. Stars and moguls aboundÑbring money if you want to keep up. Sushi-bar stools are amongst the most coveted in town, and sushi is what Tojo is renowned for. But he works magic on the stovetop too: witness his smoked black cod in a slightly sweet broth, and sea urchin tongues baked au gratin with rich chunks of smoked sablefish, geoduck, and crab, brightened with fresh yuzu and served in the spiky urchin shell on a blanket of sea-salt snow.

East is East is a dream borne from the minds and hearts of Mustafa and Razaviah, siblings of Afghan descent. Escaping Afghanistan as a family during the soviet war, they relocated in India and traveled throughout the country absorbing the culture through it's language, art and cuisine. Upon migrating to Canada, their immigrant experience confirmed to them the importance of creating spaces where a vibrant cultural exchange between East and West could take place. Wanting to break beyond the conventional ethnic restaurants they encountered in Canada, they created East is East as a hub for strong men and women of diverse cultures to feel at home in a place that was beyond boundaries. The fusion approaches to food, ambiance, music and art all contribute to creating a sense of universality while retaining the essence of the Eastern heritage that the owners have brought with them to this land. Appreciating the growing movement of lifestyles of health and sustainability, East is East consciously integrates local and organic food into the menu, has harvested sustainable materials for restaurant interiors, and works to decrease its carbon footprint with small steps in the right direction.

White Spot Restaurant (Local) – No trip to Vancouver is complete without a trip to White Spot, a legendary British Colombian restaurant chain. The closet one is conveniently located very close to our property Although their menu has a wide variety of choices you can’t dine here with trying their legendary Triple O Burgers. My local pro tips: Adults – order the Legendary Burger Platter with bottomless fries, make sure you ask them to add lettuce and tomato to your burger. Ask for extra pickles on the side (free or charge), trust me they are good. Kids – order the Pirate Pack. Kids love the food and the awesome paper pirate boat the food comes in. There are a variety of choices for a mains and side dishes but my kids love the burger and fries. They also have arguably the best chicken strips in town. Again, order extra pickles on the side, the kids will love them. Don’t forget to get the ice cream at the end, which is included in the meal. Clam Chowder – not only is White Spot known for its burgers it’s also known for its legendary Manhattan style Clam Chowder. Order a bowl or a cup as a starter, I guarantee you will love it. Car Hop – if you really want to have a unique and fun experience I highly recommend you try the car hop. Park in the back-parking lot, put on you hazard lights and a car hop will come out and take your order. They will bring the food out on an elevated tray table which they easily clip into your windows and sites comfortable in front of you. I take all my out of town guest for the car hop experience and they love this unique experience. Breakfast – they have great breakfast options and I love there coffee as well. Chicken Burger – If you want a healthier option than the burger try their chicken burger, it’s the best I’ve ever had, make sure you ask for lettuce and tomatoes. Try it with bacon and cheese if you really want a memorable experience. Location – 2518 W Broadway, Vancouver, BC V6K 2G1 How long to get there – 4 -minute drive

I love ice cream, especially the really rich, artisan kind that has become more popular these days. Focusing on local ingredients and hand made treats, the ice cream shop is certainly popular with summer and spring line ups out the door, don't worry the move quickly.

Ideally located on the corner of West 4th and Vine Street in the heart of Kitsilano, this Social house is much more a great restaurant than a bar. Browns is the perfect spot for locals, travelers, shoppers, beach-goers and anyone who craves a great dining experience. Part of an excellent group of Japanese restaurants including Rajio and Suika, Raisu is well known for its superb sake list and Teishoku bento-style boxes. So, it’s no surprise that their sushi is fantastic also, with a choice of pressed sushi resembling works of edible art and the freshest possible sashimi plates. Their Deluxe Seafood Bowls are amazing too, and often include delicate, melt-in-your-mouth slices of tuna, salmon, sea urchin, snow crab, snapper, ikura, and prawn.

1. Las Margaritas (Local) – Although this isn’t a chain it is a legendary local Mexican Restaurant. It always feels like a party at Las Margaritas, and especially so when it’s a sunny day out on their big patio. The beach is right down the street and their corner patio on 4th and Maple is great for people watching, tequila sipping and of course, sun-baking. It’s got a wide variety of Southern California & the Baja-style Mexican fare and kid friendly options. Las Margaritas is located very close to our property. This restaurant gets high marks for décor, atmosphere, service and food. They have a great website. Local Recommendation: Dinner – get there early if you have kids and don’t want to wait in line. They sometimes take reservations, call ahead. My favorites – We usually have the chips and salsa and get right into the main’s. I like the combination choices but my favorite is the sizzling fajita’s. Patio – although dining inside is great, Las Margaritas has one of the best patio’s in Kits. Margaritas – I can’t remember the last time I had better margaritas. If you like your margaritas order the monster size, my favorite is a blend of Peach and Mango but all options are great. Location – 1999 W 4th Ave, Vancouver, BC V6J 1M7 How long to get there – 4 -minute drive

Inexpensive sushi is easy to find in Vancouver. But inexpensive sushi that’s well made with fresh, quality seafood”¦ That’s another story. So when one of Vancouver’s top chefs compared the quality of Kitsilano’s Temaki Sushi to that of Tojo’s Restaurant at half the price, I practically hung up on him and put on my coat. I was surveying chefs for the Straight’s annual Golden Plates issue, asking them to name the best restaurants in Vancouver. To ensure that they would speak freely, we promised their responses would remain anonymous. I can’t say who voted for Temaki, but this celebrated chef called it the best Japanese restaurant in the city, citing its “unbelievable” quality of seafood and value for the price. I had been to Temaki before. The restaurant is fairly close to the Straight offices, but a bit too far to be convenient for picking up lunch. Yet I had gone at the urging of another well-respected chef, who had voiced similar praise for Temaki in an interview for the 2008 Golden Plates survey a year earlier. Drawn to the bargain lunch specials, I had ordered one of the bento boxes, consisting of a California roll, chicken teriyaki with rice, three gyoza, green salad, and miso soup, for $6.95. Countless sushi joints offer similar deals, but their greasy chicken teriyaki and rice-heavy rolls invariably disappoint. Eating lunch over my keyboard, I deemed the food pretty average. It didn’t impress me enough to stop working and give it my full attention, or prompt me to go out of my way for it again. But with two reputable endorsements, I had to give Temaki a fair shake. When I arrived for dinner early one Friday night, the place was packed. It’s a comfortable restaurant—nothing fancy, but with enough style to make it pleasant. Rather than wait 20 minutes for a table, we grabbed stools at the U-shaped sushi bar, which turned out to be a wise decision. Watching a good sushi chef in action can be great entertainment, and there’s no better appetizer than food made fresh in front of you. Sitting at the bar also lets you preview your options: if something looks good, just ask for one of the same. Temaki’s menu is a standard mix of maki and nigiri sushi, sashimi, and hot items like tempura and udon soup. Prices are reasonable: a California roll is $3.25; a piece of wild sockeye nigiri costs $1.60; and 10 pieces of assorted sashimi go for $12.95. You can eat dinner for under $12, but it’s also easy to spend more than double that, especially if you knock back a beer or sake or two. On that night and subsequent visits, I tried a variety of sushi, as well as several temaki (cone-shaped rolls you eat with your hands), for which the restaurant is named. The fish was indeed fresh, and the sushi well constructed. In contrast to the unremarkable California roll, a real crab roll was luscious, and a deal at just $1.25 more. The B.C. roll also stood out for its crispy, delicate salmon skin, in contrast to the flabby scraps many sushi joints use. A sure sign of quality was the rectangular block of tamagoyaki (rolled egg omelette) on display beside the gleaming fillets of sockeye and tuna. This one wasn’t processed to a Golden Arches yellow like at other establishments that order it in premade. At Temaki, it’s made fresh. A tamago slice came with my chirashi don ($12.95), which was beautifully presented. I watched the chef assemble it, artistically arranging delicate slices of seafood on vinegared rice in a round lacquer bowl, curving the salmon into a rosette. Along with quality, presentation sets Temaki apart. “We put a lot of care into what we do, instead of just putting it out,” owner and sushi chef Hilary Nguy tells me in a phone interview. Other places throw together slapdash sushi, and the sloppiness extends to the taste, too. Nguy has worked as a sushi chef for 15 years. When he expanded Temaki a year and a half ago, he hired another sushi chef, Omura Akira. Evidence of the chefs’ skill comes through in their careful, deliberate motions. In order to put out a good product, “You’ve got to really like making sushi,” Nguy says. According to Nguy, 90 percent of Temaki’s customers are regulars. The lunch crowd I saw had a strong contingent of students and office workers, likely attracted to the bento-box specials. The friendly, efficient service makes Temaki appealing as well. But I suspect it’s not the chicken teriyaki that impressed the chefs who recommended this place. Rather, it’s dishes like fresh uni (sea urchin) gorgeously presented in cucumber cups ($11.95), or the sashimi trio of daikon-strip-wrapped sockeye, tuna tartare, and seared tuna with mango and spicy citrus sauce ($10.95). Invest a little more at Temaki, and I bet you’ll get gratifying returns.

very close to our property and is always ranked one of the top 10 brunch spots in Vancouver. This is about as authentic as you will get when it comes to a French Bistro, it has the perfect French atmosphere and ambiance and all the servers speak French! A quiet and serious little authentic spot, but they offer take-out if you forgot to make reservations for this long-standing local favourite. Their menu doesn’t steer far from the classic options, and it doesn’t need to as everything is just outstanding. Try the Omakase (Chef’s Choice) menu for Chef Yuji’s daily best.

The cozy and intimate room is the perfect start to a wonderfully prepared meal. On the menu, there are a handful of dishes offered for each course; what they do, they do well. At La Quercia, diners enjoy classic dishes made with seasonal ingredients, and a changing menu. You can order from the a la carte menu or opt for a family-style experience. If you're with a couple of people, ordering family style is the best way to eat; it doesn't get better than enjoying the experience together. Complete your meal with a bottle of wine from their extensive wine list. La Quercia's family-style menu is worth the splurge and the best way to try a multitude of dishes. Local Recommendation - Book weeks in advance, this restaurant always gets book up quick.

Don't dress up -- this is a casual neighbourhood bakery restaurant frequented by the laid-back Kitsilano crowd. Brunch is served daily until 3pm and the menu is entirely organic (with prices to match the high food quality). Think stuffed French toast, roasted fennel tofu scramble and breakfast burritos. Portions are generous and many gluten free and vegan options are available. Save room for pie or cake -- dozens of flavours are on offer, including two gluten-free vegan cakes (available in full-size) and ten gluten-free vegan pies!

The Naam Restaurant is Vancouver’s premier vegetarian restaurant. Begun as a small café in 1968, it has grown into a full service 24/7 Kitsilano landmark. We consistently win Reader’s Choice “Best Vegetarian” year after year in most major magazines and newspapers. Also voted “Best Late Night” restaurant, the Naam often is runner-up for “Best Salads” against the highest-end restaurants in the city. The menu is extensive. Starters include quesadillas, Tuscan nachos, organic hand-cut Yukon Gold fries with our famous miso gravy; or excellent salads, soups, and croissant melts with guacamole and cheese. For mains, there is a selection of enchiladas, stir-fries, veggie burgers and combination platters. The vegan Dragon Bowls are hugely popular as is our Thai Noodles. There is a full dessert menu: try the vegan raspberry chocolate cake or the Dutch apple-cranberry pie topped with Mario’s premium Italian Ice cream. There is also a range of delicious shakes, fresh juices, our own line of herbal teas, and of course organic coffees. We serve wine, and a good selection of bottled beers and beer on tap including organic Crannog draft. There is a full breakfast menu: pancakes with real maple syrup, huge fruit crepes with organic blueberry topping. omelettes, breakfast specials, and a wide variety of egg and vegan scrambled tofu options. We have the best vegetarian sausages in town. Breakfast is served from 6 am every day, until 11:30 am on weekdays, 1 pm on Saturdays and 2 pm on Sundays. We have a lovely open-air garden patio, a fireplace in winter, and live music every night from 7-10pm. To avoid a line-up, please come early. We take reservations weekdays (but not Friday evenings) for parties between 6 and 15 people. We accept Interac, Visa, MasterCard and Amex. While the Naam has a number of items that range from the $5 to $15 mark, what helps this all-veggie restaurant shine is the hearty portion sizes. You’d be surprised at how much you can fill up with their plate of veggies; we highly recommend trying their fries with extra miso gravy.

This is another local premium casual dining restaurant chain. Its very close to our property and located in Kitsilano Beach Park between to the playground and tennis courts. They specialize in seafood and have a huge variety of options and an extensive kids menu. This is not what I would consider a top rated high-end seafood restaurant but you will definitely enjoy their offerings and the amazing views. My local pro tips: No Line ups - They rarely have line up’s so you don’t have to make reservations. My favorites – Ahi Tuna tacos for starters and the Pacific king crab legs for main. Joe Fortes - is another amazing seafood & chop house restaurant. Its uses Old-school white linens, fresh, local ingredients and top-notch friendly service with outstanding value. An unpretentious choice for lunch, dinner, or weekend brunch, you can dive into fresh-shucked B.C. oysters, piled-high bowls of fresh fried crisp calamari, and buttery miso-marinated sablefish. Maenam (which translates as “mother water”) dishes some of the most authentic Thai food Vancouver has yet seen. Chef Angus An, who trained under chef David Thompson at the world’s only Michelin-starred Thai restaurant (Nahm in London), applies his affections for locally sourced and seasonal ingredients to the traditions of the Thai royal house. Beyond the real-deal pad Thai, aim for the grilled Thai sausage with crispy rice, followed by whichever curry is currently being served (cross your fingers for duck). The city’s best Thai restaurant, right in our own neighbourhood! Maenam is an award wining Thai Fusion Restaurant voted Vancouver Magazines Restaurant of the year in 2016. It is very close to our property, although I have yet to visit it is very highly acclaimed. Manenam features three different curries, there’s the Green Curry of Braised Beef Cheek, the Southern Style Grilled Prawn Curry, and the Kat Soi Northern Style Curry of Grilled Cauliflower. Each dish is beautifully presented, with a wonderful, rich fragrance of spices and creamy textures. A sinfully delicious house-made coconut cream is used in the latter two.

Whether we call it best pastry chef or best bakery, Thomas Haas remains on the top of the bread basket for all things baked. This is an extremely popular cafe/chocolatier in Kits famous for their double baked croissants, which many consider to be the best in all of Vancouver. After my latest trip to their shop, where I got their Double Baked Chocolate Almond Croissant, I have to say that I can't argue with those that think they're the best; the croissant was pure perfection. I also had their Hazelnut Praline cake, which was also splendid. Their prices are quite high unfortunately, but you're certainly paying for quality here. So if you don't mind spending a bit more money, I highly recommend that you check this place out: it does live up to the hype!

BEST CHILL OUT SPOT IN KITS If your looking for great coffee, awesome Zen like ambience The Only Cafe has it. Service is always excellent and they bake their own pastries, fresh daily. Their siphon brewing method produced very good coffee and is definitely cool to watch if you've never seen it. Not busy on week days, plenty of space to work. Cartem has also teamed up with Elysian coffee who motto is to provide people with the juiciest, most spectacularly delicious, and reliable coffees they can and they honestly come through.

This is considered the king of Coffee Cafes in Kitsilano its busy, but worth it. The doughnuts are terrific, and the coffee is pretty tasty too. The seating area outside is nice for chilling out and people-watching. They are a staple in the Vancouver coffee + cafe scene. There are a good portion of coffee shops and even restaurants in the city that carry their coffee, so you know they're doing something right.

Established in 1990, family-run Siegel’s Bagels has gained legendary status in Vancouver as a go-to spot for authentic Montreal-style bagels. Siegel’s Bagels offers round rings of doughy goodness that are kettle boiled and then baked in a custom 25-tonne wood burning oven in 22 unique varieties and four kinds of rugolach, but its calling card remains the wildly popular Montreal smoked-meat sandwich: sliced thin, steamed, and stacked high. The Cornwall location is open 24/7, so stumble by for a late-night munch or a sunrise breakfast. LOCAL PRO TIP - Great for a quick and down right amazing breakfast or lunch option!

This comfy, eclectic coffee shop on Fourth Avenue has the warmest buzz in the city. It has become a favourite of so many Kitsilano locals. Opened in 2017 by partners Zoran & Sarah Cafe Lokal is a great addition to the neighbourhood. I’m certain that they know every regular by name and his/her favourite coffee, which Is consistently good and ready soon after stepping through the door. Pastries are made fresh every morning on site. I'm told the flax muffin, is delicious, so tasty it sell out quickly. Cafe Lokal is undoubtedly a Kitsilano gem, appropriate for singles, couples, friends or families. And for people who are keen on good Italian style espresso ☕️, look no further. It is a great place to hang out, meet people and work ( free wifi and soft jazzy music in the background ). Does not serve drip coffee

Nook is one of those great neighbourhood restaurants. Almost from the minute it opened the tiny pasta joint had lines out the door. The menu is a simple selection of top-notch antipasto, fire-roasted pizza and handmade pasta. The pizzas are not Neapolitan style, but they have thin crust, bubbly air pockets, golden spotting and traditional toppings. Think buratta, rapini, garlic, sausage and pancetta. The have some great appetizers, including a vegetable platter and the meatballs, moist and bathed in a bright, freshly crushed tomato sauce, are always delicious. The prices are not the cheapest around. But the high-quality ingredients and freshness of flavour are worthwhile.

This great little spot is definitely a neighbourhood draw and is always buzzing with a diverse crowd. The Oakwood is known for its "all-Canadian" poutine, gourmet burgers and its décor - rustic Canadiana – wood, bleached antlers, lots of craft beer. Chef, Mike Robbins sources thoughtfully, he buys Ocean Wise seafood and local or Canadian meat and poultry. My recommendations are the burgers the warm kale salad and the poutine. If your looking for a cozy upscale casual spot in the neighbourhood I would check out Oakwood Canadian Bistro.

There’s a real neighbourhood history between those wood-panelled walls, where local hippies and Greenpeacers used to hold court, and today it remains the locals’ local. A Vancouver icon, the Kitsilano neighbourhood pub augments its 24 draught taps with craft beer clubs and dinners, Tottenham supporters and this nations future from nearby UBC. It’s always packed, so be prepared to wait for a spot, and those fish tacos will taste even better. Local Pro Tips: Great place to watch a sporting event. You simply can’t beat Darby’s rooftop patio during this nice sunny weather, and it’s even better with a refreshing beer. Darby’s has 32 craft, imported, and domestic beers on tap, so there’s plenty of choice. Enjoy the consistently good 33 Acres beer on special on Sunday nights, specifically the Echo beer – a seasonal blonde India Session Ale, with notes of citrus and pine, and a smooth finish. Surprisingly good place to grab a drink but also a bite. The food here is pretty much pub food - think burgers, fries, and wings. They have daily specials as well as after hours (10 pm) specials. Plenty of seats inside and on the patio. I would recommend the burgers.

Set over 130 acres, Queen Elizabeth Park is located 15 minutes south of our property. This gorgeous park sits on Little Mountain at an elevation of 500 ft (52 m), making it the highest point in the city and a good place for views of the city and the the surrounding mountains. The site was once a quarry, used for making roads in the city in the early 1900s, and was developed into a park around 1930. Today it's a beautifully maintained space that includes gardens, an arboretum, conservatory, sculptures and fountains, as well as a pitch and putt golf course, tennis, disc golf, lawn bowling and more.

Vancouver Maritime Museum Vancouver Maritime Museum Vancouver’s Maritime Museum in Vanier Park showcases the region’s maritime and boating history, as well as that of the Pacific Northwest and Arctic.
