Park behind the Albuquerque aquarium (on the NW side of the intersection of Tingley Dr SW and Central Ave SW) and walk on the dirt path along the river for miles in either direction. There is also a picnic area here. If you prefer to ride a bike, a paved path runs parallel to the river across the entire city. Rental bikes are available from Zagster stations all over downtown Albuquerque (the nearest station is located at The Grove restaurant, 600 Central Ave SE, 1 block from the AirBnB). Simply return the bike to any station when you are done

For something more foresty, check out the Pino Trail at the Elena Gallegos picnic area (which is also a great place to just have a picnic in nature if you aren’t into hiking). Elena Gallegos charges $1 on weekdays and $2 on weekends for parking. Hiking at the top of the Sandia Peak Tramway is also beautiful and scenic.
