Most of them are outdoor swimming pools and open all year round, so in the dead of winter, you’ll have to tiptoe barefoot and dripping wet across icy or snowy patches to move between hot tubs. Yes, visiting swimming pools is not an activity reserved for the Icelandic summer. For some, the best time to go swimming in Iceland is during a rainstorm or a blizzard. Two pools close by: Vesturbæjarlaug on Hofsvallagata and Sundhöllin on Barónsstígur close to the shopping street Laugavegur.
Filled with geothermal water, the pools usually have one or two lap pools, at about 28°C and hot tubs at temperatures ranging from 38°C up to around 45°C. Most pools also have a steam room, and some have a dry Finnish sauna.

Kattakaffihusid is Iceland's first cat cafe. We opened on March 1st 2018 but the first cat cafe opened in Taiwan in 1998 and they have since then been growing in popularity during the past 20 years. Cat cafes are very popular in Asia and have also opened in the US, Canada as well as in Europe during the past years.
Our aim is to create a warm and cozy atmosphere where people can relax, enjoy good food and meet our cats.
All our cats are up for adoption and live at the cafe while looking for a future home. Their safety and comfort is our main priority and we want them to feel at home while living with us and the rules at the cafe and environment is created to secure just that.

Fast food burger place by the old harbour - very close to our house. Búllan or Tommi's joint as he is called outside of Iceland is the very best. Located at the old harbor in Reykjavik 101. Walk across the park in front of the house and down Ægisgata and Búllan is at the end of the street.
