There are many distilleries around the Moray area and some, like this one, have a fabulous visitors centre. You can catch a bus from Elgin a do a distillery tour.
Whisky is a traditional and vital industry in Scotland and Speyside. Glen Grant is our nearest distillery to Brylach with a well established visitor centre, coffee shop and stunning gardens. A wander round the garden is completely free.
Great distillery with tours available on arrival. There is a lovely Victorian garden and tea room.
Around 7 miles away is the Glen Grant distillery and gardens, in Rothes, well worth a visit.
Point of Interest
“Originally established in 1786, Strathisla is the oldest working distillery in the Scottish Highlands. Located in the Speyside region, it was the first distillery owned by the Chivas Brothers and to this day, Strathisla Single Malt is at the heart of each and every Chivas Regal blend. Spend an hour (or three) in expert yet relaxed company discovering everything there is to know about Strathisla, the ancient craft of distilling spirits, and the rare skill behind our blends.”
“Gordon Castle is a classy affair. Their cafe, set beside their huge and beautifully planted walled garden is a lovely place to come for lunch. The menu is derived from the goods grown in the garden where possible. Beautiful surroundings with a children’s play area and gift shop too (see Gordon Castle natural play area link also in this guide).”
“Not a winery - a distillery. There are many in Dufftown and in the locality. Choose your favourite Speyside whiskey and look up the distillery website for times of tours and tastings. ”
