Sandbanks Provincial Park
Gorgeous beaches! Great hiking, and picnic areas. Approx 1 hour drive from Tweed but there are rarely any vacancies in Picton during the summer.....and the nightly rates in this area tend to be cheaper :)
Use the park pass to bypass the entry line and explore one of Ontario's natural pleasures. Sandy beach, with plenty of space, but my favorite part are the dunes. Its a quick hike to the dunes and the terrain is hilly, but the sand is soft and gorgeous.
Ontario's favourite white sand beaches are at Sandbanks! During the summer, visit during off-hours...after 5:00pm or on weekdays to beat the crowds.
It's beautiful. From the park's web site: - World’s largest baymouth barrier dune formation - Three expansive sandy beaches that some say are among the best in Canada; Outlet Beach is perfect for families, with shallow waters and gentle drop off - Location jutting out into Lake Ontario means…

One of the most beautiful beaches in Canada is located just 40 minutes away! Kilometres of soft sand and warm shallow water make this a perfect family day.
Famous sandy beaches and a number of trails for gentle to medium hikes, bird watching, and beautiful views of the lake.
maybe you've heard of this place before? :D beautiful dunes and views, such a unique space with great beaches, beautiful waters, bathroom amenities - but get ready for crowds and line ups in the high season. In the fall, its' listed as closed but it's open for pedestrian access.
An absolutely beautiful provincial park. We always suggest Lake Shore Lodge, Dunes Beach and Outlet Beach. All of these are short drives from our property and can also be easily biked to. The trail between dunes Beach and Lake Shore Lodge is epic as it the trail that wraps the tip of the peninsula…
Sandbanks is one of Ontario's most beautiful provincial parks and is a quick 30 minute drive from Fitzroy Fieldhouse. We offer our guests beach towels, toys and a pass which allows one vehicle entry to the park.
A marvelous collection of flat sandy beaches, sand dunes, nature trails, & limestone beach, the Sandbanks is a must see for everyone of all ages! Skip the parking fees, we have a park pass available!
Dunes beach is incredible....during peak season the beach is so busy they close the gates. So go early in the day, or later in the afternoon (or come to watch the sunset)
