Japanese old style restaurants and bars district in Shinjuku. Especially there are a lot of Yakitori(baked chicken) restaurants there. It seems like 50-60years ago Tokyo alleys. Now there are so many tourists, then just a few of Japanese here unfortunately.

A small network of alleyways along the tracks northwest of Shinjuku Sta. The narrow lanes are filled with dozens of tiny eateries serving Ramen, Soba, Sushi, Yakitori and Kushiyaki.

Omoide Yokocho Omoide Yokocho, a maze of narrow alleys close to the West Exit of Shinjuku Station, stands in stark contrast to all the bright and clean modern environs of the station. Tiny restaurants and open barbecue food stalls spill their smoke, noise and greasy steam over alleys hardly wide…

It's literally alley with small bars, restaurants where you can eat and drink at a relatively cheap price. The ambiance as you enter the alley definitely says adventure. If you like to eat and drink, you'll enjoy your experience. I found the staff of numerous restaurant to be warm and entertaining…

There are many historical shops that opened in post-war Japan. These tiny shops are always crowded with many people. There are plenty of eateries to enjoy traditional Japanese food such as Yakitori.

Smoke is billowing nightly from the yakitori stalls that line this alley by the train tracks. Literally translated as ‘Memory Lane’. Enjoy drinking here!

A tiny smokey alley with bars and other eateries serving skewered meat. The setting is reminiscent of scenes from Ridley Scott's film, Bladerunner. A walk through here is worth the alone!

’Omeide yokocho’ These gourmet streets lined with restaurants are popular for being friendly, delicious and cheap. You will be enticed by the appetizing aromas wafting throughout the area and red lanterns at sunset.
