Hay On Wye Booksellers
Drive up through Gospel Pass to Hay on Wye - there are plenty of book shops to browse in, a pretty Castle and some nice cafes and restaurants.
Home to Hay Festival, it's a great little town packed full of bookshops, independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. We love The Three Tons pub. Also a great well stocked health food shop there too.
“Great coffee AND a great bookshop? Book-ish has it all! They have a great selection of cakes, coffees, teas, food and vegan options. I also highly recommend adding them on facebook and having a flick through their upcoming events because they also host pop up kitchens, board game nights (my favourite) and talks with Authors.”
“A little further afield but maps available if needed. Spectacular walk along the Cat's Back (Black Hill) from either Hay on Wye end (Hay Bluff car park 1hr) or Longtown end (45mins drive from the Haystore park at Black Hill Car Park, Upper House Farm, Hereford). ”
“Restored working water mill. Award winning bread and wholemeal flour produced here. Run by local volunteers. Guides around the mill and gardens for a fee. Lovely cafe and bakery. Talgarth is a typical welsh village which is also interesting to look round. 40mins”
“Quality Restaurant, reserve a table to avoid disappointment. Friendly atmosphere, Lovely beer garden next to the canal - watch the barges going by between the locks. ”
