I really love the atmosphere of 1833. It's a great place to go for happy hour or an afternoon drink as well as a later night. They have awesome couches as well as an outside sitting area.

The bar is absolutely gorgeous and the library lounge is an excellent spot to grab a drink and some appetizers and relax.

A little pricy but worth the experience. The décor is interesting- old, a little spooking, but romantic! Ever changing menu and yummy inventive cocktails. Dress up and go!

Upscale dining, cocktail bar, very popular; patio with fire pits; young demographic. Housed in one of Monterey's oldest and most historic buildings. Menu online.

also a restaurant. The last chef was amazing but I haven't tried the new one. The ambience is charming and cozy and there is even a rumor of a ghost in this old adobe. Artisanal drinks and tons of charm. The old owner was all about absinthe but that may have changed as well. Worth a visit.
